FocusMiles Start focusing

Terms

Last updated 21 October 2026

Plain rules for using FocusMiles. They are short on purpose. The Privacy page says what we keep.

The service

FocusMiles is free. It is provided as it is, with no promise that it will always work or stay the same. We may change, pause or end features. We try not to lose anyone's progress, but progress lives in your browser unless you have an account, so keep backups of anything that matters to you.

Be kind in shared rooms

The people in a room are real, and they can see you there. Please don't:

  • harass, threaten, insult or target anyone;
  • post hate, sexual content, spam, or anything illegal;
  • share personal information, yours or someone else's, including contact details and links, in messages;
  • pretend to be someone else, including the FocusMiles maker.

Display names and messages are checked automatically, and people can report a message. We may hide or remove messages, reactions and names that break these rules, and we may limit or close accounts that keep breaking them. Three different people reporting one message hides it while it is reviewed.

Your messages

The messages and doodles you post are yours. By posting one, you let us store it, show it on the city wall, and run the automatic check described in the Privacy page. Post only what you are happy for strangers to read.

Miles, stamps and items

Miles, passport stamps, shop items and the local money in the app have no cash value. They cannot be sold, exchanged or cashed out. We may change how they are earned and what they cost.

Accounts

An account is optional. Keep your sign-in details safe, because anyone who gets into your account can see its progress. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Please don't attack, overload or probe the service, scrape it in bulk, run bots that post or react on the wall, or try to get around its limits.

No warranty, limited liability

FocusMiles is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, lost time, or other indirect loss from using it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

Photos, sounds and radio

The photo backdrops of the town and the street recordings are not ours. They come from Wikimedia Commons, Poly Haven and freesound.org, under the licences named in the list below. Some photos have been relit by us for dusk and night. Works under CC BY and CC BY-SA need the credit given there, and the links go to the originals. Radio streams belong to the stations that broadcast them. FocusMiles plays them and links to them; it does not own them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. Carrying on using FocusMiles after a change means you accept the new version.
